My paintings are predominantly inspired by Ancient Egypt and mythology stories from the ancient world. I wish to create imagined landscapes of the Afterlife, where an arena of characters dwell in this "land in-between". Recurrent themes of loss, ritual and rebirth are are presented within disguised narratives.

Each work goes through many transitional layers before arriving at a final conclusion. This working method directs the narrative and final outcome of each piece. Providing the opportunity for happy accidents to occur through the materials used.

Final works usually consist of contemplative characters, lost in thought, looking outwith the scene being presented to the viewer. Something has either happened or is about to happen. There is a sense of purpose. A story untold. Secrets unrevealed. As viewers we are interrupting a specific moment of the drama.
